Ekkamai @ Plaza Batai, Damansara heights

I’ve walked past Ekkamai along the shops at Jalan Batai several times but it wasn’t until last week that I tried it for the first time with my family. We would usually go to Busaba when we crave Thai food, but this time we decided to try Ekkamai for a change. Surprisingly it was more than what we expected. This place would definitely be my new favourite go to thai restaurant.

The environment here is very cozy and suitable for all kind of gatherings whether it is with family or friends. The food was all above average according to my own preference and the price was clearly all very affordable. Service wise can be improved a little bit more as it was quite not efficient due to the packed situation in the restaurant during our visit that day.

Tom Yam fried rice (RM24) (6.5/10)

Sambal prawn & petai (RM34) (8/10)

Tom yam Tiger prawn (RM22) (9.5/10)

Thai spicy squid & fish cake (RM18) (8/10)

Mango sticky rice (RM18) (6/10)

Food is decent and the ambiance is good for those who are looking for a nice night out in Damansara Heights. If you are looking for a more authentic Thai food to hunt for, I guess you can skip this outlet where we felt that the taste here is more skewed towards international taste bud. If you are here to host some international guest, then it would be an ideal place.
