We have a “Slow” beginning with the house Benedict (RM24). Two plump poached eggs stand out on the top dripping with a soft yellow hollandaise. This is no light start as it’s been pimped with pulled barbecue chicken, wilted kale and sun-dried tomatoes. Two spongy slices of sourdough with a little grain turn the dish into an attractive and hearty open-sandwich.

Souffle Pancakes

I have been itching to try those fluffy, Japanese style pancakes since they first started trending on Instagram. Today, however, is my official first experience. The Pu’er Souffle Pancakes (RM 18) at Slow Coffee don’t disappoint with their impossibly fluffy posture. Spooning in, they resemble the middle of a soft pavlova. From Japan, “fuwa fuwa” means fluffy fluffy and were traditionally served after weddings to bring good luck. We think we’re of good fortune today as these lovely pancakes are also sided with butter crumb, tea granola, vanilla syrup and pu’er gelato.
